It Felt Cold.
Her eyes spoke the tenderness of a new born.
Her wrinkled face expressed a bitter life.
Her walk had an uncertainty.
Nonetheless she took brisk steps.
She stopped, held his hand and smiled at him.
Life had taught her to smile even at the darkest of hours.
He returned a smile, his eyes glittering with utmost confusion.
They resumed walking for another mile or so until they arrived at their desired destination.
It was a small room, complete with large drawers.
Drawers that would easily fit humans.
He shivered.
More in response to the peculiar place than the freezing atmosphere.
She needed less courage and more strength to pull out one of the large drawers.
She smiled.
She had found it.
Now the trial was to take it along with her.
Her son was too fatigued to carry it for her.
Carrying it on her back seemed the only way.
Strength had always been a distant friend.
But today she was sans alternative.
The journey would be distressing.
She took a considerate moment and decided to wait no longer.
Hunger was never painless to shun away.
She put a hand inside her coat.
A shiny object peered out.
She handed it to him with a vicious look.
The look from his mother was enough for him.
Smelling it, he dug his teeth into the corpse of his dead father.
She asked if it was good.
He simply replied.
It felt cold.
