Here's Why You Should Be A Good Listener

We generally come across people who are talkative by nature and end up taking 80% of the conversation. Such people often like to talk about themselves, their lives, their hobbies, their health, their ideas, etc.
People find pleasure in talking about themselves, but if they always speak about their achievements and their problems, I’m sure they wouldn’t make up for good conversations.
Conversation is a two way process. A good conversation calls for a 50-50% balance between the two people.

Let us discuss the benefits of being a good listener:

1.      You will be more appreciated by the people whom you talk to.
Being a good listener indicates that you are interested and at the same time concerned about the person’s well-being.
2.    You will get new points of view, new perspectives and new insights.
Always listen first before you speak. It not only creates a good impression on the speaker but also helps you solve many of your life’s problems effectively.
3.    Your relationships with people will be more harmonious.
Relationships are all about communication. Being a good listener makes you attentive towards the other person’s emotions and experiences. It aids in building a strong relation with people around you.
4.    Listening develops patience and tolerance in the listener.
You learn to be patient about the person’s sorrows and joys and tolerant about their feelings.
5.     People will like you more, because people like good listeners.
Good listeners make up for good friends and hence, it will help you increase your circle and become popular.
Listen to Understand. Not to Reply.
